Quick answers for the most common questions. A real person reads every email.

Getting started

Download DiskSuds, open the disk image and drag DiskSuds into Applications. Open it from there. Scanning and exploring are free; a license key unlocks cleaning.

Full Disk Access

macOS protects folders like Desktop, Documents and Mail. To measure them without asking folder by folder, open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Full Disk Access and turn on DiskSuds. It’s optional: DiskSuds still works without it, and it reads sizes and dates, never file contents.

Your license

Enter your key once, in Settings → License or the first time you clean. DiskSuds stores the activation in your Mac’s Keychain and refreshes it quietly in the background. After each refresh it works offline for up to 30 days.

Lost the email? Get your original key again. You never need to buy twice.

Moving to a new Mac

In DiskSuds on your current Mac, open Settings → License and choose Deactivate This Mac. Then enter the same key on the new Mac. Your license works on one Mac at a time.

If the old Mac is lost or broken, release it by email. A Mac that is offline may keep working until its current 30-day offline allowance ends.

Updates

Your purchase includes every DiskSuds update released in the year after you buy. Versions from that year keep working for as long as you use them. If you install a version released later, DiskSuds tells you which version is the newest included and where to download it.

Getting something back

Anything you created goes to the Trash first. Open the Trash in Finder, select the item and choose Put Back. Caches and logs that DiskSuds removes are recreated by your apps as needed.
