Make room.
Lose nothing you need.

DiskSuds finds what’s quietly filling your Mac, shows exactly how much each thing would free, and lets you clear it with complete confidence.

Make room for what’s next.

Smart Scan finds caches, logs and developer files you don’t need, broken startup items, and anything waiting in the Trash.

This is a live simulation with example data. Nothing on your Mac is read.

Deep Clean

Junk, found where it actually lives.

DiskSuds checks each app’s own cache, logs, Xcode and package-manager caches, old installers and the Trash — in seconds, not a disk-wide guess. A folder of yours that happens to be called “Logs” is never touched.

  • Regenerates automatically vs. review before removing — the two are never mixed.
  • Caches of apps that are running are marked In use and left unselected.
  • You see what’s removed now, what goes to the Trash, and what’s permanent — before anything happens.

Explore

See every byte at a glance.

A living map of your disk. Every rectangle is a folder sized by the space it takes. Click into the big ones, step back out, and add anything you no longer need to Cleanup.

  • Six ways to look: Treemap, Sunburst, Icicle, Largest, Age and List.
  • Filter by name, type and date without losing your place.
  • Size on disk or logical size — and hard links counted once.

Click a folder to step inside. Example data.

Large Files

Big, forgotten, and finally found.

DiskSuds walks every folder — including the hidden ones search skips — and shows when each file was last opened, not just modified. Files in iCloud Drive can be removed from this Mac and kept in the cloud.

  • Sizes show what removing a file actually frees, not what it appears to use.
  • Parts of projects and repositories are never offered piece by piece.

Duplicates & Similar Photos

One is enough. DiskSuds knows which one.

Every duplicate is confirmed byte for byte. Then DiskSuds suggests the original to keep — not the first one alphabetically, and never the one named “copy” sitting in an archive folder.

Apps

Uninstall all of it. Not just the icon.

Dragging an app to the Trash leaves its caches, logs, preferences and launch agents behind. DiskSuds shows the whole footprint and removes what belongs to that app alone.

  • Only files matched by the app’s exact identifier go with it. Shared data stays.
  • Running apps are asked to quit normally first. Nothing is forced.

Guard

Checks apps, startup items and downloads against Apple’s own XProtect malware signatures — and removes a threat together with whatever relaunches it.

Startup Items

See every helper that launches with your Mac, which app installed it, and broken ones left by apps you removed. Quarantine instead of delete, and restore any time.

Privacy

Clear browsing history and cookies for Chrome, Brave, Edge, Arc and more. Bookmarks, passwords and autofill are never touched.

Built to be trusted

It deletes exactly what you reviewed.
Nothing else.

A cleaner is only as good as its worst day. So we tried to trick DiskSuds into deleting the wrong thing — and made it refuse, every time. Pick a trap.

The trap

What DiskSuds does

Honest numbers

The space it shows is the space you get.

APFS clones and hard links share data between files, so deleting them can free far less than they appear to use. DiskSuds measures the difference before you clean — and reports what was really freed after.

Developer caches on one of our Macs: the same files, measured both ways.

Your final say

Nothing moves until you say so.

  • Caches and logs are removed only after you confirm. Everything you made goes to the Trash, where Finder can put it back.
  • Mail, Messages, Photos libraries, Keychains and your account folders are off-limits — to every feature.
  • Every cleanup is written down before it starts, so nothing happens off the record.
  • Scanning reads file sizes and dates, never contents. Nothing leaves your Mac.

Questions, answered.

Will DiskSuds delete something I need?

Not without you choosing it. DiskSuds only preselects things apps recreate on their own — caches, logs and developer build data — and you review every item before anything happens. Anything you created goes to the Trash, where Finder’s Put Back restores it. Mail, Messages, Photos libraries, Keychains and your account folders are never touched by any feature.

What can I do before I buy?

Download DiskSuds and look around: map your disk, see what’s taking room, and find what could be cleared. Buy when you’re ready to clean.

Is it a subscription?

No. DiskSuds is $29.99 once. It includes a year of updates, and the version you own keeps working after that. It works on one Mac at a time, and you can move it to a new Mac.

Why does it ask for Full Disk Access?

macOS protects folders like Desktop, Documents and Mail. Full Disk Access lets DiskSuds measure them without asking folder by folder. It’s optional — DiskSuds still works without it, and it never reads the contents of your files, only their sizes and dates.

Does anything leave my Mac?

No. Scanning, comparing photos, checking for malware and cleaning all happen on your Mac. DiskSuds doesn’t upload your files or scan results.

What about system files?

If you choose to, DiskSuds can also clear system-wide caches and old system logs and manage startup items for all users. macOS asks you to approve its small helper first; it can only do those specific things, only DiskSuds can use it, and it quits when idle.

Which Macs does it work on?

Any Mac running macOS 14 Sonoma or later, with Apple silicon or Intel.
